Jan and Alan have returned from South America

Jan and Alan have returned from a very succesful buying trip for alpaca products from South America. They were kept very busy attending daily parades with stunning alpaca knitwear in the latest colours and fashions. Visiting also some of the top alpaca studs in the area once again reinforced the belief that alpaca knitwear is a superior, unique, and totally sensous product.

Jan had a great time selecting some outstanding alpaca pieces for the Balingup store which will be arriving from the end of May onwards over the next three months.

They also spent time with the designer of the fabulous cotton range that was introduced to Jalbrook in Febuary of last year and are delighted to announce that they will have a total new range on the shop floor in Balingup from July. All of the latest styles and designs will be available in 100% ecological cotton. This range totally compliments the 100% natural range of alpaca knitwear.

If you want to purchase your own piece of soft, sensous, knitwear with a difference the Jalbrook Alpaca Knitwear Gallery is open seven days a week from 10am 4pm and is situated on the SW highway in Balingup.

With the start of cooler weather we are again busy with mating for a beautiful drop of crias (baby alpaca) for early next year.

 

The gardens continue to evolve and with Sheena our new gardener busy planning and planting along side us we have noticed a big difference in the way the property is taking shape. 200 new daffodil and Iris bulbs have been laid down already with more to come and be planted in April.

 

Birds, birds and more birds. The way the hundreds of birds flock to the gardens and enjoy the sprinklers and feed left at feeders and birdbaths around the property is a delight to behold. The honeyeaters line up for their daily plunge into the bird bowl and they are like old men in a village lined up, waiting and gossiping.

 

The weather is slowly moving into Autumn. Russet golds and glorious reds are starting their show on the trees. With water still available for the gardens, the colours against the green backdrop are really spectacular.

 

The Jalbrook Concert is 10 years old this year and we are talking to some exciting artists. Held on the last Saturday of each November this outdoor concert is a night of concert magic under the stars. With a range of great accommodation both locally and in surrounding towns along with camping and caravanning options it is a night not to be missed.

Opera in the Valley

The inaugural night of Opera in the Valley was a wonderful night where five very talented young Australians dazzled their audience with Opera classics and Broadway standards.
The weather was perfect and the setting stunning. Stay tuned for the date for 2009 as it will be a part of the West Australian Opera's calendar of events.

With all of the added extras that Jalbrook guests have come to expect Red Robin has been totally refurbished with queen beds in both bedrooms and now has its own spa pavilion overlooking Balingup Brook and is the perfect getaway for four people.
