Kids at Jalbrook
Children staying at Jalbrook are encouraged to help with all the chores associated with running a small farm: Animal feeding, filling the wood boxes, cleaning the paddocks, building a bonfire, fruit picking and collecting eggs.

Weather permitting we have bonfires with toasted marshmallows, baked potatoes and apples during school holidays. Parents are encouraged to join in the fun with the lighting of the fire early evening, and the children orchestrating the 'story telling' or 'sing-along'.
Chloe and Dillon, our two miniature ponies, love to be brushed petted and fed by the kids who visit.

Asha and Sasha, our resident Labrador dogs, adore bonfire nights and all the burnt marshmallows. They are often to be seen fossicking for leftover potatoes next morning.

Parents comment on how willing the kids are to help with the farm chores. In reality “the chores” are fun as well as about learning new things. Often the parents need to look for the children on the property as they are so “busy” being farmers.
